The British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the voice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in the UK. To promote the advancement of education, research and the development of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the British Isles. To encourage and assist postgraduate education, study and research in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The American Society of Temporomandibular Surgeons (ASTMJS) is a non profit organization of maxillofacial orthopedic plastic reconstructive and oral surgical specialists dedicated to promoting education research and patient services concerning orthopedic disease of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
The European Society of TMJ Surgeons (ESTMJS) is a non profit organisation of specialists focused on the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular joint disorders and who have contributed signficantly to the field by unique, imaginative or pioneering clinical or research endeavours.
The British Association of TMJ Surgeons (BATS) is for UK Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons with an interest in TMJ disorders and surgery, although we recognise that only a minority of patients with a TMJ disorder will benefit from surgery. BATS has strong links with the American Society of TMJ Surgeons (ASTMJS) and the European Society of TMJ Surgeons (ESTMJS), and is recognised by the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS).
